Salsa On1 is on Sundays and Wednesdays. Salsa On1, also known as L.A style Salsa, is a linear style of Salsa and term "On1" refers to the timing. It is a dynamic style that is popular in Australia and around the world. To help you decide on which level to join, hit select.
Salsa On2 is a style made popular in New York by Eddie Torres "The Mambo King". It is also a linear style of Salsa but the timing is different, hence the term "On2". There is more of an emphasis on the music and the instruments which naturally makes you a better dancer.
Cha Cha Cha is another dance originating from Cuba and we believe it is the coolest partner dance in the world. Cha Cha Cha is a very chilled dance that lets you connect with the music and your partner.
Urban Bachata classes are on Thursdays. We teach modern style of Bachata but ensure you learn the origins of Bachata which is from the Dominican Republic. Bachata is a beautiful dance and after the beginners course, we are confident you will be able to dance it socially.
Level 2 is for dancers that have learnt the basics in our Beginners Salsa course and is designed to help students build on the fundamentals of the dance. Level 2 has four modules and each module contains different material. A single module is covered over the 5-week duration of the term. All four modules must be completed before you proceed to Level 3. Our focus is to develop good technique, it's not how many moves you know, it's how well you execute the moves you do know.
Level 3 is for dancers that have completed Level 2 or have a solid understanding of the basic fundamentals like the Cross Body Lead (CBL) and the Right Turn (RT). Without these fundamentals, there are no Inline Turns or Spins which is what Level 3 partly focuses on. Some might think that the CBL and the RT are easy and they might be, we just like to be thorough. Always remember, "It's more fun when you're good at it". Level 3 has six modules so there is plenty to learn.
This is where the real fun begins! You've put in the many, many months of hard work through all the levels and modules. You now have a real respect for the music and the dance and you understand why the fundamentals are so important. There are four modules of Shines and Turn Patterns which are challenging in themselves but the real challenge is having the freedom to modify or add to the material, this is the expectation. Our mission is to develop dancers, not clones.
Our intro level is designed to help you understand the music and get you dancing comfortably. It is best to have some dance experience but beginners are welcome. It is strongly encouraged to continue attending this level even if you have experience and and completed this course.
The Open Level are for those that have completed the Intro Level and are now confident with the Cha Cha Cha timing and dance. New shines and turn patterns are taught each week to keep you interested and challenged.

Bachata may be considered an easier dance but there is a lot more feeling to it, this creates a stronger connection with the music and your partner. Without this connection, it's difficult to truly enjoy the beauty of Bachata. Always remember, "It's more fun when you're good at it". Level 3 has six modules so there is plenty to learn.
