General Term & Conditions

1. General Terms

a) Respect fellow students, instructors and our neighbours. Listen to staff and refrain from speaking over dance instructions which may affect the learning of other students.

b) Your health and safety are important to us. By participating in our classes, we trust that you are in good health and not aware of any reasons (medical or otherwise) why you should not participate. If unsure, please seek expert medical advice before attending our classes.

c) You understand that classes, workshops and choreographies can be physically strenuous, and you assume responsibility for your physical fitness and any injuries that may occur.

d) You understand that classes, workshops, events, and choreographies require physical contact with other dancers. Physical contact with hands and other parts of your body i.e., hips, shoulders & waist, may occur. We expect all participants to always behave in a safe and respectful manner.

e) Please keep your belongings safe and do not bring valuables into the studio or when attending an Urban Salsa event. Urban Salsa is not responsible for any loss or damage to your belongings while you are at the studio or attending an Urban Salsa event. Belongings left in the studio and not claimed within 2 weeks will be given to charity.

f) We are not liable for any loss or damage to your vehicle or its contents.

g) You are responsible for using our facilities with care. You will be responsible for any damages caused through a wilful act or negligence by you and/or your guests.

h) Changes may be made to our classes, timetable, schedule at any time. The current schedule, or any changes made to it, will be reflected to our website.

i) We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone, or to request you to leave the premises at any time. Further action may be taken where appropriate, including suspension or termination of your term registration, refusing participation in classes and performance courses, or attending Urban Salsa events. We can refuse your attendance without warning if you behave in a way that is risky or seriously inappropriate, such as inappropriate physical contact or comments towards others, threatening or harassing others, refusing to cooperate with instructors or staff’s instructions, damaging premises, intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.

j) No pets or animals permitted on the premises.

2. Fees, Payments & Refunds

a) All prices are inclusive of GST.

b) All products and services must be paid in advance.

c) Bookings can only be confirmed, and your spot secured upon full payment.

d) Payment for term registrations, memberships, workshops or events are non-refundable or transferrable to another person.

e) In special circumstances where Urban Salsa approves a refund, the amount will be refunded to the card used less the payment processing fee charged by our vendor.

f) Payments for term registrations may be transferred to the next term in special circumstances and are subject to approval. Notice must be given in writing.

g) Urban Salsa reserves the right to revise fees and charges without notice. We will make a reasonable effort to inform all students in advance of any revisions to the fees.

3. Private Classes

a) Changes to private bookings must be made in writing to dance@urbansalsa.net at least 24 hours prior to the booking date/time. Urban Salsa will re-allocate the payment to the new date/time or provide a credit for cancellation requests.

b) Changes private bookings made within 24 hours of the booking date/time will result in 100% of the payment to be forfeited.

4. Choreography Courses

a) By signing-up to a choreography you are aware that the sessions may be physically strenuous, and you voluntarily agree to participate.

b) You must be a registered student in the choreography dance style for the entire duration of the choreography

c) You must attend at least 80% of the course and regular classes or you may be restricted from performing due to lack of readiness.

d) There may be costs for any extra training session required. Payment must be done prior to attending extra training session.

e) If Urban Salsa cancels the choreography you have booked for, we will refund or credit the proportional amount of remaining sessions.

f) If you are injured or ill and you have to withdraw from the choreography, we will refund or credit the proportional amount of remaining sessions. Requests cannot be backdated.

g) The cost of the choreography course does not include costumes or shoes.

h) There may be external events that require the performers to pay a full pass at your cost.

i) Should the performance group perform at regional events, travel, meals and accommodation expenses will be at your cost.

5. Copyright and use of images

a) All class syllabus, workshops and choreographies taught by Urban Salsa instructors are the property of Urban Salsa and are not to be used for any unauthorised purpose.

b) By signing up for any of Urban Salsa’s classes, workshops, and choreographies, you are authorising the use of your image, captured in photos and/or videos during classes, workshops, events, performance, or rehearsals, by Urban Salsa for any type of promotional purposes.

6. Privacy Policy

The only personal information collected by Urban Salsa is what is provided by students or prospective students. We do not monitor any personal information.

If an individual receives communications from Urban Salsa which they do not wish to receive, they may request to have their details removed from the database by sending us an email at dance@urbansalsa.net.
